Jaipur : Jaipur Even after two and a half years, the lab facility has not been started in SMS Super Specialty Hospital. Those patients who are in serious condition are suffering the brunt of this the most. SMS Super Specialty Hospital was built at a cost of Rs 200 crore to provide complete treatment to patients under one roof. But the lab facility has not yet been started in the hospital. The reason for this is that the testing machines required for the lab have not arrived yet. While OPD, IPD, surgery and transplant are being done in departments like Urology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology, the lab facilities are being neglected. Here only one collection center is operating in the name of lab, from where more than one thousand sample SMS are being sent daily to the central lab of the hospital.
hospital After the OPD timings are over in the Emergency Department, serious patients of Urology, Gastro and Nephrology are brought for treatment. Many of these patients have serious problems like kidney and liver failure, which require immediate investigation. In such a situation, the samples are immediately given to the relatives of the patients. In such cases, most of the patients are forced to go to private labs, because due to lack of lab in SMS, it takes time for them to go there and the reports are not available immediately.
Difficulties in starting the lab: Investigation also found that the hospital was constructed by the Central Government and the lab machines were also to be sent by the Central Government. But it is continuously getting delayed.
The machines have to come from Delhi and we are making efforts for this. However, to ensure that patients do not face any problem, we are sending sample SMS. We will find a solution to this soon.
