Jaisalmer: 61 passengers arrived from Jaipur on the first day, 44 departed

Jaisalmer : the air link of the tourist city got connected to the state capital Jaipur on Sunday. Indigo company has started regular air service between Jaisalmer and Jaipur under the winter schedule, which will operate seven days a week throughout the season. On the first day, 61 passengers from Jaipur boarded the plane and reached Jaisalmer and on return, 44 passengers left for Jaipur by plane. 78 seater ATR aircraft is being used by the company. Last season also, only ATR aircraft were operated between Jaisalmer and Jaipur.

It is noteworthy that earlier there was a plan to start air service between Jaisalmer and Jaipur from 27th October but due to some reasons this could not happen and now finally it was started from the 1st of December. On Sunday, the plane took off from Jaipur at 9.35 am and reached Jaisalmer at 11.05 am and on its return flight took off from the civil airport at 11.25 am and landed in Jaipur at 1 pm. In this way, the distance of Jaisalmer-Jaipur which can be covered in 10 to 14 hours by bus and train, will be covered in just one and a half hour by plane. Similarly, in the current tourist season, daily air services have become available from Jaisalmer Civil Airport to three big cities. IndiGo has been operating regular flights to New Delhi and Mumbai since October 1.

They will also get great facilities: Jaipur is the capital of the state and all types of government work is conducted from there. In such a situation, it has become convenient for the government officers and personnel posted in Jaisalmer to travel to Jaipur very quickly. Similarly, ministers, senior officials and veterans from other fields coming from the capital to Jaisalmer will no longer have to spend the time required to travel 600 kilometers by road or rail. This will also make possible the arrival of many distinguished persons in the coming time. Civil Airport Director Pramod Kumar Meena said that Jaipur-Jaisalmer airline has received a good number of passengers on the very first day. He expressed hope that this airline will operate at full capacity in the coming few days.
