Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer Basketball Academy players have brought glory to Rajasthan State Sports Council and Jaisalmer district by winning gold medal in sub-junior state level basketball competition. In the 49th Sub Junior State Level Basketball Competition under the joint auspices of Rajasthan Basketball Association and District Basketball Association Didwana, the Jaisalmer Academy team won the title by defeating Alwar in the final match. District Sports Officer and Jaisalmer Basketball Academy coach Rakesh Vishnoi said. That in this competition, the team of Jaisalmer Academy first defeated Chittorgarh by a margin of 61-06 and in the quarter-final match it defeated Barmer by 63-52 and in the semi-final match Entered the finals by defeating Jhunjhunu by a margin of 55-47. The final match with Alwar was one-sided.
Best performing players honored
Academy players Mukesh Kumar, Dilip, Shubhanshu, Aham Dorwal, Chaitanya Raj, who performed best in winning the gold medal for the Academy team in this competition, were given Victor X basketball balls as a gift from Dribble Academy. Vansh Pradeep, Ritwik, Angrez Singh and Alok of the academy have also played an important role in getting the medal. MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, Collector Pratap Singh, SP Sudhir Chaudhary, public representatives and academy team trainer Rakesh Vishnoi and academy players were congratulated for this achievement of the academy players.
Academy has won gold medal five times
The team of Jaisalmer Basketball Academy has also created history in the past by winning gold medals 5 consecutive times from 2015 to 2019 in the sub-junior state level basketball competition. After that, the competition was not organized during the Corona period in 2020 and 2021 and the academy remained closed. When the academy starts in 2022, new players were selected and given intensive training. Who won the silver medal in the year 2022 and last year back in Udaipur, the academy team dominated by winning the gold medal.
