Air services to Delhi and Mumbai are starting once again in Jaisalmer from Tuesday i.e. 1st October. Not a single flight operated in the summer schedule this year and due to early closure of flights in the last winter schedule, the civil airport of Jaisalmer was deserted for a long time. But with the beginning of the tourist season in Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer Airport is going to be buzzing again under the winter schedule. But Jaisalmer and Gujarat are not being connected in this year’s schedule, due to which tourism businessmen are looking a bit disappointed.
Impact on tourism due to lack of air connectivity with Gujarat
Air services for Delhi and Mumbai are being started about a month before Diwali this year, online booking for this is also going on. This year Jaipur has also been added. Approval for air services has also been taken for Jaisalmer-Jaipur-Jaisalmer from 27th October. But this year air services are not being started for Ahmedabad. Due to which there is a possibility of huge loss to the tourism business, because a large number of tourists from Gujarat come to Jaisalmer. In such a situation, tourism will be affected due to lack of air connectivity with Gujarat. South connectivity was available beyond Ahmedabad, which will not be available now.
Tourists from Gujarat and South
Tourism businessman Ravindra Shripat says that it is incomprehensible for the flight company not to connect Gujarat with Jaisalmer, because the load factor in air service between Jaisalmer and Ahmedabad has been better than other cities. Generally, Ahmedabad also has connectivity with South India. .There are all kinds of means from Ahmedabad to go south. If there is connectivity between Jaisalmer and Ahmedabad, then along with Gujarat, we can also get business from tourists from South India.
Indigo Air Line will start 3 flights
Arvind Vyas, associated with tourism business, said that starting flights from Jaisalmer to Delhi and Mumbai is a profitable deal. But he says that not having a flight to Ahmedabad will prove to be doubly damaging. Companies providing air services said that Indigo Airlines is going to start air services only for 3 cities for this winter season. Thousands of Gujarati tourists come to visit Golden City during Diwali.
Approval for air service received
Regarding resumption of flights from Jaisalmer, Civil Airport Director Pramod Kumar Meena said that till now only IndiGo has released its schedule. Under which air services to Delhi and Mumbai are starting from October 1. In this, we gave the time he had asked for. There is no update yet regarding SpiceJet. Hopefully, like last year, this year too people will get benefit from it. He said that Indigo Airlines has got approval for air services in Jaisalmer under the winter schedule. Under this, air services will be started for Jaisalmer-Delhi-Jaisalmer and Jaisalmer-Mumbai-Jaisalmer on 1st October. These air services will run till 31st March, along with this, approval has also been taken for air services for Jaisalmer-Jaipur-Jaisalmer from 27th October.

With Jaisalmer being connected to Delhi and Mumbai, Jaisalmer’s name has been added to the list of foreign tourists and tour planners. Because tourists will be able to come to Jaisalmer directly from Delhi and enjoy the velvety curtains here.
