Jaisalmer Municipal Council’s elected representatives will complete their tenure in the next week.

Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer Municipal Council is among the 49 urban bodies of the state, whose elected representatives’ tenure is going to be completed next week. In such a situation, now this city government is a guest for only five days, but there is still fog on the situation regarding what will happen after that. On one hand, the representatives of the Rajasthan government are repeatedly claiming to implement the budget announcement of One State-One Election, while on the other hand, the State Election Commission has started preparations for the elections by giving instructions to the district election officers. By indicating to do so, it has created a stir among the declared and undeclared contenders for the posts of Chairman and Councilor. At the same time, internal discussions among political parties regarding the upcoming Municipal Council elections have intensified. It is noteworthy that the tenure of the Chairman-Deputy Chairman of Jaisalmer Municipal Council and other 43 elected councilors is going to be completed on 25th or 26th November because the election of the Chairman was held on 26th November 2019 and the election of the Deputy Chairman was held the next day. The election results of councilors were declared on 19 November.

Administrator not announced

noteworthy It is said that till now the government has not made any effort to appoint administrators in the 49 municipal bodies whose elected representatives are about to complete their tenure.
