Jaisalmer : There is drinking water crisis in Dungar Singh ki Dhani in Rasla area of Fatehgarh tehsil of Jaisalmer district for the last 3 years. The GLR built by the water supply department in the village is lying dry for the last 3 years. Due to lack of drinking water supply, people are facing drinking water crisis. Due to lack of drinking water, the condition of villagers and cattle is becoming miserable. Villagers have to order water tankers at expensive prices. The thirst of villagers and animals is being quenched with water procured at expensive prices. The villagers have demanded the administration to supply water.
Water tankers are being ordered for Rs 1300
Giving information, Manohar Singh, a resident of Dungar Singh’s Dhani, said – The water supply system in GLR located in Dhani has been deteriorating for the last 3 years. Due to irregular and inadequate water supply system, GLR is lying dry here. Due to which the villagers have to order water tankers for Rs 1300. At the same time, the officials of the water supply department are not even giving satisfactory answers. Villagers are being forced to water the cattle sheds at their own level. Despite this, no action is being taken by those responsible to streamline the water supply system.

GLR (Ground Level Reservoir) is a type of water tank built on the ground, in which water is stored. Water is stored in it through water pipeline.
