Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer Pokaran The bridge built over Tolabera river on Railway Station Road in the town had collapsed during the recent rains. Which has not been repaired yet. Due to which there is always a possibility of an accident here. According to the information, the age-old Tolabera river of the town passes through the Railway Station Road. For this, a culvert was constructed under the road years ago by the Public Works Department. Two years ago this culvert was renovated and constructed. During this time, big pipes were installed under the culvert. During the heavy rains in the town last August, the Tolabera river ran at its full speed. Also the entire road here was flooded.
Due to lack of attention to quality during the construction of the culvert, some part of the culvert collapsed in this rain and got washed away in the water. The next day, information was received about the collapse of the culvert when the river water receded. On which the officials of the Public Works Department inspected the spot and kept sand filled bags here, so that no accident happens. Whereas till now no action is being taken regarding its repair.
Not getting repairs done, fear of accident
Past The culvert has been damaged for three months. Also, there is a deep pit here. People going to Railway Station, Railway Colony, Gurudwara, Dairy, Ramdev Colony pass through this route. In such a situation, any major accident can never be ruled out here. It is noteworthy that the office of Public Works Department is also situated on this route and officers pass through here every day. Despite this, no attention is being paid to the repair of the bridge.
