Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer Air fares have increased three times in the tourist season. Earlier the fare for the flight from Jaisalmer to Delhi was Rs 5 thousand. The fare has increased from Rs 17 to 19 thousand in the tourist season. Similarly, the fare from Mumbai to Jaisalmer was earlier Rs 8 to 10 thousand per passenger, but now it has been increased to Rs 26 thousand. The fare from Jaisalmer to Jaipur has been increased from Rs 5 thousand to Rs 15 thousand. In this situation, air travel to Jaisalmer and big cities has become expensive for the passengers. It is noteworthy that the tourism season in Jaisalmer will be at its peak in the coming days. Due to this, the airline has increased the fares. While air services are not available in summers, air services have become a thing of the past for the common man due to the huge increase in flight fares during winter season.
Tourist arrivals decreased
Clouds of danger are looming over the tourism season in Jaisalmer this year. However, the arrival of tourists continues. But the number of tourists this year has been very less in comparison to previous years. Usually, every year the arrival of Bengali tourists starts with the beginning of Navratri. But this year tourists from Bengal did not reach Jaisalmer during Navratri. Even after this, tourism businessmen are still waiting for the tourists to reach Jaisalmer. After Diwali puja, bumper tourists from Gujarat reach Jaisalmer. In Gujarat, after Diwali, markets remain completely closed till Labh Panchami. During this period, Gujarati tourists turn towards Jaisalmer. But this time the arrival of tourists from Gujarat also remained less. Due to which clouds of danger are looming over this year’s tourism season.
Deception in the name of two schedules
Air companies cheat common travelers by releasing two season schedules. Air companies release summer and winter schedules. But every year air services are being operated in Jaisalmer only on winter schedule. Due to which air services become a distant thing for the general public in off-season. A system of winter schedule from October and summer schedule from April has been made. In which winter schedule air services are started from 30th October.
Earning from tourists, hence no facilities in off season
After the commencement of air services from Jaisalmer, the common man was expected to get a lot of relief from this facility. But due to the deception being done by air companies every year with the general public, air services are not being started in the off season. At the same time, during the tourist season, the air companies are earning profits from the tourists in the name of boom of the tourist season. Due to which air service is not useful for the common people. Jaisalmer Airport Committee member Kanvraj Singh Chauhan said – It is wrong for Indigo company to increase the fare in the season and we will raise this issue in the airport committee meeting. Along with this, Indigo will also discuss this issue with the company officials and the government so that the air fares can be reduced.
Air travel is in very high budget for people
Shrey Bhatia of Enway Trip, Jaisalmer said that air fares should not be increased as the common people are getting disillusioned with the flights. In winter, more and more tourists like to travel by air to save time, but due to high rates, they cancel their journey. Due to which tourism of Jaisalmer is being harmed. Jaisalmer is lagging behind in tourism due to closure of air services in off-season.
