On the basis of the stay of the court, the state government transferred Dr. BL Bunkar, who was working on the post of CMHO, to Barmer and Dr. Rajendra Kumar Paliwal has now become the sole CMHO. He took charge of CMHO on Thursday. On this occasion, departmental officers and personnel congratulated him. It is noteworthy that after the formation of the new government in the state, about 6 months ago, Dr. Paliwal was posted on the post of CMHO in place of Dr. Bunkar. According to the information, Dr. Bunkar then brought a stay order from the court against this order of the government and later he remained the CMHO. However, Dr. Paliwal remained in the CMHO’s room in the office located at Dedansar Marg. Dr. Weaver then sat in another room and continued working. Last Wednesday evening, the government issued an order and transferred Dr. Bunkar from here to Barmer and in such a situation, the command of the medical and health department in the district has come into the hands of Dr. Paliwal.

After taking charge of the post of CMHO, Dr. Paliwal enumerated his priorities while working on this post. He said that his priority will be to improve the health index of the district, ensure effective implementation of departmental flagship schemes and programs and make efforts to ensure that the common people benefit from better health services. Similarly, he also talked about making efforts to provide the services of the medical college being built in Jaisalmer and the trauma center and district hospital in Pokaran to the common people as soon as possible.
