Jalore News Desk: The construction work of the road up to Jalore Swarnagiri Fort, which is included in the important project, has not even been completed, let alone started, even after more than a year. The foundation stone for this work was laid on 5 October 2023 in the presence of Pukhraj Parashar, former chairman of the Public Deprivation Allegation Redressal Committee.
This work was to be completed in 14 months. In this context, the deadline for work was 5 December 2024. The matter is stuck in diversion and alignment. For which efforts are being made at the departmental level.
In this matter, PWD officials say that whatever shortcomings there were regarding the earlier project have been rectified and forest department officials are also being continuously contacted. The work will be done with the issuance of NOC.
Situations like this
The agency started work on road construction quickly, but in the meantime the Forest Department team checked the documents. It came to light that the alignment which was fixed and the route for which there was diversion. The work was not being done according to him, but was different from him. Due to difference in approval and work site, the department stopped the work. Which has not started till date. The working agency says that more than a year has passed and permission has not been received to start the work.

The agency had paid Rs 43.50 lakh for the first stage NOC for the road construction work up to Jalore Fort. In this whole matter, it will take a lot of time for the new work on the road. According to departmental information, documents have been sent to the headquarters for guidance in this matter. Due to change in alignment, change in its route km is also possible. Let us tell you that former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had released Rs 27 crore in the state budget for the road till the fort. A 12 km security wall is also to be built for about 5.5 km road.
Therefore important project
The height of Swarnagiri Fort of Jalore is high and the fort is full of ancient wealth. There are many historical and religious places. Fort development work is also going on. In such a situation, there is a possibility of tourism development. Once the road is built, outside tourists will be able to reach the fort. Let us tell you that for about 15 years, efforts were going on for road construction work or alternatively rope-way till Jalore Fort. Eventually the work started with the approval from the state government for the project.
The work went on for about two months and then stopped.
The work was started on 5 October 2023 and then stopped on 3 December 2023. The agency of Uttarakhand is doing this work and as per the stipulated time period, it was to complete this work in 14 months. This time period has ended.
User Agency and Executive Agency PWD
The first user agency for this project was the Municipal Council and the executing agency for this work was PWD. Now the user and executing agency is PWD. Let us tell you that the main reason for the problem in the work was that the user agency and the executing agency were different and this led to difference in the paperwork. The work was not being done as per the fixed alignment in the road construction site of the fort. The work was stopped on that basis. The proposal has been sent, the work will start once it is approved.
