Jalore : With all the hurdles removed for the Jalore Bagra four lane project, work has started once again. The agency has to complete this project in 11 months, but according to the department, if everything goes well, this work will be completed in the next 5 to 7 months and after that the movement on this route will be easy. However, the pace of initial work is slow and the journey from Ahor intersection to College intersection is no less than a challenge. Clouds of dust keep flying on the road. The special thing in the matter is that the approval for this project was received in the year 2023. At that time, on the lobbying of Pukhraj Parashar, Chairman of the People’s Deprivation Allegation Redressal Committee in the Congress government, the government had released Rs 53.22 crore on this demand of granite entrepreneurs. After this, when the work started after facing hurdles at various levels, the Forest Department stopped the work citing lack of valid approval for cutting of trees. According to the work order issued after being approved in 2023, this work was to be completed on July 3, 2024. According to the matter, this work is to be completed by the middle of next year, although the department claims that this work will be completed before that.
Hindrance came due to approval for cutting of trees
agency Last year, work was started near Dhanpur, in which cutting of trees was also to be done. The Forest Department stopped the work, saying that the work cannot be done in the absence of NOC. This year, when approval was given, the work was started near Ahor intersection of Jalore city and here too the work stopped during the Diwali season and has not been able to pick up pace till now.
work in progress
project In lieu of cutting of 673 trees, Rs 1.33 crore was deposited by PWD. This process was completed at the end of July and since then the pace of work has been slow. The important question is that when the work was to be started from within Jalore city, then why was this work stopped for 8 months citing cutting of trees. Even then this work could have started from within the city and the process of obtaining permission for cutting trees would have continued at the departmental level.
Right now there are problems at two levels.
1- Concrete is scattered from Ahor intersection to College intersection and construction material has also been dumped nearby. Due to lack of water sprinkling, clouds of dust are rising, which is also affecting visibility.
2. Excavation work is being done with JCB to widen the road from Taskhana area towards Industrial area on Bhinmal Road. There is a lack of safety standards on the route. Problems for drivers on the route at night.
Work started after forest clearance
After receiving NOC from the Forest Department, the work started in the month of October itself. Now this work has to be completed in 11 months, however, efforts will be made to complete this work before the deadline.
