Jalore celebrated 151st birth anniversary of Kesari Singh Barhath, various competitions organized

The 151st birth anniversary of the great revolutionary Thakur Kesari Singh Barhath was celebrated on Thursday at Karni Charan Hostel located in Jalore News Desja, Jalore district headquarters. Garlands were lit in front of the idol of Barhath. A lamp was lit and the students in the hostel threw light on the biography of Barhath. An essay competition was also organized on the contribution of Thakur Kesari Singh Barhath in the Indian freedom struggle. Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Department, Narayan Singh Charan said – The entire family of Thakur Kesari Singh Barhath sacrificed his life for freedom. Kesari Singh Barhath was born on November 21, 1872 in village Devkheda (Shahpura). His father’s name was Krishna Singh Barhath. Kesari Singh Barhath was a famous Rajasthani poet and freedom fighter. He had acquired authentic scholarship by studying languages ​​like Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati etc. along with history, philosophy and astrology etc. During this, hostel superintendent Laxman Dan and other dignitaries of the society present presented their views.

In 1903, the British Viceroy Lord Curzon held a durbar in Delhi to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII. Kesrisingh Barhath composed Vaavni Ra Chungtya. It is a collection of 13 couplets in which Mewar Maharana Fateh Singh was urged not to attend the Delhi Darbar. He wrote about the tradition of the Maharana’s noble ancestors who never became a part of the Mughal Empire (Darbar). The throne of Mewar had importance and respect in the eyes of Indians. Impressed by the verses, Maharana returned from Delhi without attending the Mewar court. The entire life of revolutionary Kesari Singh Barhath was dedicated to the Indian national movement.
