Jalore : Jalore Farmers have taken to the streets in Jalore over the distribution of water from Jawai Dam, the largest in western Rajasthan. Farmers started gathering from 12 o’clock on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, the farmers reached the protest site in front of the Collectorate and started protesting. The farmers protesting for the demand of Jalore water got angry and reached the house of Jalore MLA and Assembly Chief Whip Jageshwar Garg and protested and raised slogans against Garg. During this, the farmers They blocked the road by placing a tractor on the way. Many roadways buses have been stopped. Traders have also closed the market in support of the farmers. At the same time, the route of Barmer-Jodhpur National Highway 325 originating from Jalore has also been closed. After this, the farmers reached the residence of Jalore MLA and Chief Whip Jageshwar Garg in Polji Nagar at 12 o’clock with a tractor. Protested here by raising slogans. After this, the farmers blocked the road by placing a tractor in front of the MLA’s house. Although the MLA is currently from Jaipur. The police sent the farmers away from there after giving advice.
Protest has been going on for 9 days
In fact, Mahapadav was started 9 days ago on the call of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh demanding fixing of one-third share of Jalore on the water of Jawai Dam in Jalore and providing timely insurance claims to the farmers. Thousands of farmers from 300 villages reached Jalore on Wednesday in support of this. At around 9 am in the morning, they demonstrated by burning tires at Haridev Joshi and Hospital intersection. After this, at 11:30 they reached the Barmer-Jodhpur highway coming out of Jalore and blocked the road here. Roadways buses and other vehicles originating from here have also been stopped. Farmers say that even after 9 days no one has come to talk to the farmers. After this he started protesting. Here farmers reached the protest site in large numbers with tractors.
Kitchen started at the protest site, officers arrived for advice
During this time, all the police officers of the district including ASP Motaram and DSP Gautam Jain consulted with the farmers and advised them to remove tractors and other vehicles. But, the farmers did not agree. Here, the farmers have started cooking food at the protest site itself. Farmers say that they will protest on the streets until talks are held with the government.
