Jalore : Raniwada. Meda Chatwara road is in a dilapidated condition and drivers are facing problems in movement. Rs 24 crore was released for the 20 km road and work for this started on 4 August 2023. This work was to be completed on July 3, but till now not even 10 percent of the work has been completed. After the protest by the villagers, a stir begins for a few days in the name of starting the work, but hardly any work is being done on the ground. Due to which there is anger among the villagers. People of Taveedar, Chatwara and Lakhawas connected through this route are troubled. Let us tell you that this important work has been divided into pieces to small contractors after covering a distance of a few kilometers, while some contractors have also been entrusted with the work of culvert construction and culvert construction. Which are currently closed, due to the lack of quality in the construction work, people of nearby areas including Meda and Golwara had lodged a protest during the commencement of the work. After which the work has stopped for several months continuously.
Villagers dissatisfied with work
The villagers had protested when the work started between Chatwara, Lakhawas, Golwara, Taveedar and Meda villages. Villagers say that on the complaint, the department officials assured to get an investigation done, but no action was taken. For not completing the Meda-Chatwada road on time, the department has collected penalty as per rules from the concerned contractor. The work will be started in the coming week.
Villagers said the problem should be resolved soon
Villager Ghevarchand Purohit says that even after filing a complaint regarding the work, there is a lack of monitoring and investigation at the departmental level. Villager Krishna Kumar Devi says that the condition of Meda-Golwara road is pathetic.
