Janmashtami Special: This city was founded by the 116th descendant of Shri Krishna, it has a unique relationship with this place

Jaisalmer : Lord Krishna has an old relationship with Jaisalmer. The history and existing evidence of this place are witness to all these stories and tales. Many historians have mentioned them in their works. One of these evidences is the ancient Jaisalu well built on the Trikuta hill (currently Trikutagarh or Sonar Durg) of Jaisalmer situated in the middle of the Thar desert. Jaisalu well located near the temple of Lakshminath ji in Sonar Durg is more than 5 thousand years old. The story of this well is very interesting.

Jaisalmer was founded by ‘Maharawal Jaisaldev’

According to historian Tane Singh Sodha, in ancient times, the route from Mathura to Dwarka passed through Jaisalmer. Once Lord Krishna and Arjun were going to Dwarka through this route. During this time, Arjun felt thirsty. There was no water anywhere nearby. Then Lord Krishna dug a well here with his Sudarshan Chakra and quenched Arjun’s thirst. After drinking water, Arjun asked Shri Krishna that you yourself gave a well here. But, what will be its utility in the future. Then, Lord Krishna predicted that my descendants will come here and establish their kingdom and rule. This incident is said to be more than 5 thousand years old. Krishna’s 116th descendant ‘Maharawal Jaisaldev’ established Jaisalmer on this Trikuta hill. Historians have also mentioned this incident in the book ‘Nainsi Ri Khyat’, which proves this incident. It is mentioned in the pages of history

Mehta Ajit wrote in his ‘Bhatinaame’ that the prophecy of the settlement of Jaisalmer was written on a stone inscription long ago. It was written in the stone inscription, “Jaisal’s name was a Jadupati, one of the Yaduvansh people, in the middle of the Kini period, here was Rahasi Aayi” This means that a king named Jaisal will come here and make his capital. This is what happened. Maharawal Jaisal laid the foundation of Sonar Durg in 1212 on this Trikuta Garh and built a huge fort. In ancient times, the residents of the fort used to quench their thirst from the Jaislu well. Jaisalmer royal family descendants of Lord Krishna

Historians have directly linked the royal family of Jaisalmer to Shri Krishna in their written lineage. According to historians, the Bhati rulers of Jaisalmer are descendants of Shri Krishna. The present Maharawal Chaitanyaraj Singh is the 159th generation descendant of Shri Krishna. After Lord Krishna, some of his descendants settled in the north of Hindukush and the south of the Indus river and Punjab. That place was called ‘Yadu ki Dang’. From Yadu ki Dang, they came to the desert of Sindh via Zabulistan, Ghazni, Sambalpur and drove out the Langha, Jamda and Mohil communities from there and made Tanout, Deraval, Lodrava and Jaisalmer their capitals.

Meghadambara Chhatra and Takhat are still with the royal family of Jaisalmer

The real descendants of Lord Krishna are currently the Bhati rulers of Jaisalmer. The proof of this is that the Meghadambar umbrella and throne given to Shri Krishna by Devraj Indra is still with the royal family of Jaisalmer. During the coronation in Jaisalmer, the Maharawal sits on it. This Meghadambar umbrella and throne are still kept safe in the museum of Jaisalmer Fort. Not only this, the symbol of Meghadambar umbrella is also present in the state flag of Jaisalmer princely state.
