Jathedar farmers of Punjab, not Haryana, in farmers’ movement: Krishna Bedi

Rohtak, 6 December (IANS). Once again there is a conflict between the government and the farmers regarding the farmers’ movement. Farmers have announced to reach Delhi. Meanwhile, Haryana Government Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi has claimed that the farmers of Haryana are not among those protesting.

Krishna Bedi told the media here on Friday, “These are not the farmers of Haryana but the Jathedar farmers of Punjab, who have small problems. The central government will solve them. The Haryana government has done the most for the farmers. Compensation has also been given for such crops which could not be harvested this time.”

He said that the Haryana government has promised to purchase 24 units at MSP for the farmers. Also, the Supreme Court has praised the government for stubble management, whereas this is not happening in Punjab. All these agitating farmers are from Punjab.

Krishna Bedi said that the Congress party is baselessly accusing the BJP of abolishing the Constitution. He does not have the answer as to how BJP is destroying the Constitution? The Constitution can never end because it is the Constitution made by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, which has shown the path not only to India but also to the world. In the Assembly, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had clarified all the points of the Constitution in front of everyone, but Congress has neither any question nor any answer.

Farmers from Punjab-Haryana (Shambhu) border are once again trying to move towards Delhi. This movement has been named ‘Delhi Chalo’. The police have installed barbed wire and all kinds of barriers to stop these farmers. The farmers have continued their journey by removing these wires and obstructions from the road.

Haryana and Delhi Police have tightened security regarding the farmers’ movement. Public meetings and processions have been banned, and paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain law and order. Along with this, arrangements for drones and water cannon have also been made. Shambhu Border connects Patiala of Punjab and Ambala of Haryana.
