Mumbai, December 1 (INS). Maharashtra NCP (SP) President Jayant Patil on Sunday said on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s statement regarding increasing population that by doing so the country will be further mired in problems.
While addressing a press conference, Jayant Patil said that if the population rate increases then you cannot even imagine what will be the situation of India. The population of the country has increased a lot. After this, increasing the population rate can create many problems. There may be a water problem, there may be a grain problem, there may be other problems. If I get a chance to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, I will ask why he is making this appeal?
Jayant Patil said that Ajit Pawar will join the new cabinet soon. Ajit Pawar will have to accept whatever the RSS chief says. There is no other option before them. So first of all they will have to decide that if you have two children, third child, fourth child, fifth child, sixth child, you can still contest elections. We expect that this decision will be taken as soon as possible.
It is noteworthy that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had expressed concern over the decline in population growth rate (fertility rate). He had said that when the population growth rate of a society falls below 2.1, that society gradually gets destroyed.
