Jhalawar : Chaumahla area of Jhalawar district is surrounded by the borders of Madhya Pradesh on three sides, but there is not even any check post here to check the vehicles passing through any route connected to Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, people doing illegal business are having fun. Chaumahla area is bordered by Mandsaur, Ratlam, Agar and Shajapur districts of Madhya Pradesh. There is no check post of any department on these borders. Smuggling of smack, opium, liquor and many other intoxicants, along with wood and fish, is rampant in the area. Besides, government wheat and rice are also black marketed in large quantities. A large quantity of government wheat and rice is transported from bordering Madhya Pradesh. There is no one here to stop them.
Generally, grocery, edible oil, fruits and vegetables, hardware items, bars, girders and other essential items come from Madhya Pradesh in the region. From here, cement, petrol, diesel, fertilizer etc. are black marketed and sent to Madhya Pradesh. The price of these goods is higher in Madhya Pradesh than in Rajasthan. Chaumahla area often has to suffer the consequences of being far away from the district headquarters. The distance from Chaumahla area to Jhalawar district headquarters is 135 to 150 kilometers. In such a situation, the main reason for delay in any action is this distance. Because everyone hesitates due to obstacles in the action of each other’s department. Departments like Mineral Department, Logistics Department, Food Department, Sales Tax etc. do not have any offices here. Officers come from the district headquarters for their action.
