Illegal mining of gravel is taking place on a large scale in Katli river flow area and Khatedari land at Jhunjhunu : Jhunjhunu Bagholi, Jodhpura, Pachalangi, Sarai, Mankasas, Mawata and other places. Every day as the day progresses, the business of illegal mining of gravel starts in Katli river. This game continues till late night. Apart from regional vehicles, vehicles from other areas including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Ringas, Khatushyamji, Neemkathana, Shrimadhopur reach different morchas built in Katli river for illegal release of gravel. Tractors, trolleys, dumpers and other vehicles form a queue at Bagholi main bus stand, Pachalangi on the bank of river Sukh, Mawata, Tal Mandavara bus stand as the day progresses. When information about illegal mining is taken from the officials of Mineral, Police, Revenue and other departments involved in the security of Katli, they do not accept it as illegal mining.
Illegal mining at many places even under the guise of road construction
Illegal mining of gravel is taking place at many places in the name of construction of the road connecting Bagholi to NH 52 Thikriya which is being built in Katli river flow area. The officials of the Public Works Department have also given a written notice to the concerned contractor that if any illegal mining is taking place under the guise of road construction, then you will be responsible for it.
Katli’s security system based on one vehicle
According to the officials of the Mineral Department engaged in the security of Katli River, the security system of Katli River is dependent on one vehicle.
