Jhunjhunu MNREGA workers demonstrated in Chanwara regarding low wages and drinking water problem.

Jhunjhunu : Dam construction work is going on near Bheruji hill in Chanwara village of Jhunjhunu area. On Monday, MNREGA workers protested against the work being done under MNREGA regarding low wages and the problem of drinking water. Anita Devi, Devi, Mewa, Jhimli, Mohini, Soni Devi, Chauthmal, Rameshwar Lal and other workers protested. The workers allege that the wages are only about Rs 150. Whereas MNREGA wage is Rs 266. The workers engaged in the work allege that there is also a problem of drinking water and they have to bring it from far away places.

While giving information, Mate Sumita Saini working on MNREGA said that the workers are getting wages as per the measurement. The Village Development Officer was informed about the arrangements for drinking water. The system will become smooth from Tuesday. For so many days, arrangements for drinking water were being made by putting tankers in some private tank. While giving information, Mate Sumita Saini said that there is no source of water in the vicinity and there is no government tank either. Therefore, for alternative arrangements, a tanker was placed in a private tank. Wages are paid only on the basis of digging the soil. The workers were informed after going to the spot and taking measurements. Smooth arrangements for drinking water will be made from Tuesday.
