Jhunjhunu: Young man murdered for asking for hot pakodas worth Rs 25, accused gets life imprisonment

Jhunjhunu : Jhunjhunu A young man was brutally murdered by 5 people including a shopkeeper over a dispute over giving cold pakoda worth Rs 25. The accused attacked him violently with sticks and iron rods, due to which the young man died on the spot in a bloody condition. The young man’s fault was that he had demanded to be given hot pakodas instead of cold ones. The incident took place on 14 August 2019 in Kot Dam area. Jhunjhunu SC-ST Court Judge Sarita Naushad on Thursday sentenced an accused to life imprisonment in a 5-year-old case. Four other accused were sentenced to three and one month imprisonment under different sections. A fine of Rs 50 thousand has also been imposed on all the accused. Special Public Prosecutor Vinod Kumar said – The culprits are Phoolchand, Ratanlal, Pintu Kumar, Mohanlal, resident of Tan Kot police station of Dhani Geroth, Udaipurwati and Ramavatar of Tan Harjanpura, above Dhani Nala of Sikar district. In this, considering Pintu Kumar as the main accused of murder, he has been sentenced to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50 thousand. Four others have been sentenced to three and one month imprisonment under different sections.

On August 14, 2019, the accused had murdered Sachin Meena, a resident of Jayrampura, Dhani Bilasa, Shrimadhopur, with an iron spring, sticks and stones. Deceased Sachin Meena had joined on the post of Veterinary. He had gone to Kot Dam with his friends to party. During this, Sachin had bought pakodas worth Rs 25 from the accused. There was a dispute over serving the pakodas cold. After which the accused beat Sachin to death. The father of the deceased had filed a case of murder against the accused. The police arrested the accused and presented the challan in the court.

Statements taken from 18 witnesses

Special public prosecutor Vinod Kumar appeared on behalf of the victim’s side. He obtained statements from 18 witnesses and presented 40 documents. During the debate, the court considered Pintu the main accused in the murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Four others were sentenced to three and one month imprisonment each under different sections.
