Jodhpur Asaram will be treated in Pune’s Ayurvedic hospital for 17 days from 15th December.

Jodhpur : Asaram, who is serving life imprisonment in the Jodhpur rape case, has got parole for the third time. Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday gave 17 days parole to Asaram. Asaram was undergoing treatment in a private Ayurvedic hospital in Jodhpur on 30-day parole from November 9. His parole period ended on Tuesday. Asaram had sought parole from the court for treatment at Madho Bagh Hospital in Pune. The bench of Justices Dinesh Mehta and Vineet Mathur has given parole to Asaram for 17 days from December 15 for treatment at Madho Bagh Hospital.

According to the High Court order on Tuesday, Asaram has got a total extension of 22 days including 17 days parole after December 9. In this, the time has been extended by 5 days in Jodhpur. He will remain in the hospital for 5 days. After this, on 16th December, he got 2 days time to go to Pune and after reaching Pune, he got 15 days time for treatment. For this, Asaram’s lawyers had filed an appeal on 5 December. Advocates RS Saluja and Yashpal Singh appeared on behalf of Asaram.

Had already undergone treatment in Pune hospital

This is Asaram’s third parole in 11 years. Asaram was granted parole for 30 days on November 7 for treatment at a private Ayurvedic hospital in Jodhpur. Earlier, on August 13, he was granted parole for the first time in 11 years. Then he got parole for seven days. He had gone to Pune’s Madho Bagh Hospital for treatment from August 27 to September 2. After this, citing non-completion of Panchakarma, he had appealed to extend the parole by 5 days. The bench of Justices Pushpendra Singh Bhati and Munnari Laxman ordered to extend the parole by 5 days on September 3. Asaram had undergone treatment at Madho Bagh Hospital till 7 September.

Son has taken permission to meet from Gujarat High Court

On October 18, Asaram’s son Narayan Sai had also requested to meet his father. Sai, lodged in Surat’s Lajpore Central Jail, was given permission by the Gujarat High Court keeping in mind humanitarian grounds. For this Narayan Sai was asked to pay Rs 5 lakh. He was allowed 4 hours to meet father Asaram.
