Jodhpur : Jodhpur The 62nd martyrdom day of Paramveer Chakra winner Major Shaitan Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice for the country by displaying excellent bravery and bravery in the India-China war of 1962, was celebrated on Monday. It took place in a state and military function in front of the statue of Major Shaitan Singh located at Paramveer Circle in Pawta, Jodhpur. Collector Gaurav Aggarwal and Narpat Singh Bhati, son of Paramveer Major Shaitan Singh, paid tribute to Paramveer by offering a flower circle. On this occasion, Brigadier Pritam, District Soldier Welfare Officer Colonel DS Khangarot, Colonel Verton Amrit Kulkarni paid floral tributes to Paramveer Major Shaitan Singh. A mechanized infantry battalion (part of 340 Mechanized Brigade) gave an armed salute and guard of honour.
In the ceremony organized on the sacrifice day, retired Brigadier Mahendra Singh Jodha, Colonel NS Bhati, Colonel Bhanwar Singh, Colonel Jaidev Singh Rathore, Commander Gayed Singh Inda, Captain Umed Singh Rathore, Captain Jaswant Singh Champawat, Captain Kojaram Meghwal, Bastiram Suthar, Subedar Mul. Singh, Naik Subedar Shaitan Ram Sen, Jetharam Suthar , Subedar Tikuram Chaudhary, Sergeant Chandra Ram Vishnoi, Amar Singh, Suresh Sharma of Sainik Welfare Office, Swaroop Ram and many former military officers and pride fighters paid floral tributes.
