Jodhpur : Jodhpur The climate of the city became fresh on Wednesday due to strong northerly wind blowing for the last two-three days. After several days, the air quality index (AQI) dropped below 150 and recorded an average of 132 micrograms per cubic metre. But on Wednesday, surface ozone levels increased in the city, which is caused by organic matter emitted from vehicle exhaust. Ozone gas is highly reactive. Due to this, respiratory system diseases, asthma, COPD, bronchitis arise. Persistent cough without virus and bacterial infection is due to ozone. At present, viral fever is spreading rapidly in Jodhpur, in which there is continuous cough, fever and joint pain.
Along with weather, now air pollution is also playing a big role in making people sick. On behalf of the Central Pollution Control Board, real time monitoring system has been installed at five places in the city namely Collectorate, Mandore, Jhalamand, Digadi Kalan and Ashok Udyan located at Chaupasni Housing Board. It measures various types of pollutants present in the air. This includes particulate matter (PM 10 and PM 2.5), sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, surface ozone, benzene, toluene, xylene, temperature, humidity and other air factors.
