Sambhal, 5 December (IANS). Following the recent riots in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, police have collected important evidence from the incident site. SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi informed that cleaning work is being done with the help of the municipality in the roads and streets where stones were pelted and firing was done by the miscreants. He said that during this cleaning process, the police is also getting help in collecting evidence.
SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said that on Thursday, two shells of 7.65 mm and two cartridges of 12 bore were found. ‘Made in USA’ is written on these cartridges. Earlier foreign cartridges belonging to Pakistan Army factory were found. So far, a total of 10 foreign cartridges have been recovered, which are banned in India.
He said that no security agency in India uses these foreign cartridges. The forensic team will take opinion from ballistic experts and hand over this evidence to the police. After this further action will be taken.
Earlier, while addressing the press conference, SP had said in response to a question that the incident that took place in Sambhal on November 24 was very unfortunate. 29 policemen were injured in the incident. Four people had died. So far 34 people have been arrested. 83 people have been brought to light. Photographs of more than 400 people have been identified. These will be identified and brought to light soon. After this he will be arrested and sent to jail.
He further said that the number of people who have caused damage to public or private property has almost been estimated. Preparations are underway to recover money from the same miscreants who had destroyed this property in the crowd.
In response to another question, he said that whatever investigations have been done by NIA in Sambhal in the past, NIA will also be contacted through the headquarters. All the gangs that have been involved in arms supply here are also being identified. An update has come on who were the people present at the incident site that day and it is being analyzed. Further action will be taken on that basis.
