Deoli (Rajasthan), November 17 (IANS). Naresh Meena, accused in the slapping incident that took place in Samravata village of Tonk district of Rajasthan, was presented in the vacation court of Deoli on Sunday. After the appearance in the Village Court of Deoli through video conferencing, Judicial Magistrate Harsh Meena sent the accused to judicial custody for 14 days.
The matter is of Samravata village, where Naresh Meena slapped the SDM during voting on Deoli Uniara seat. DCP Raghuveer Singh said that Naresh Kumar was produced in Deoli Court on Sunday through video conferencing. The court has ordered to send the accused to judicial custody till November 25.
During the by-election on November 13 on Deoli Uniara assembly seat, Naresh Meena had an argument with SDM Amit Chaudhary on some issue. The argument escalated to such an extent that Naresh Meena slapped the SDM in front of everyone. After this there was even a scuffle. After the incident, Naresh Meena’s supporters created a ruckus on the spot, committed arson and damaged public property.
District Magistrate Soumya Jha had said that the people creating nuisance are being identified. Apart from this, the damage caused to property is also being assessed so that compensation can be made.
It is noteworthy that Naresh Meena had decided to rebel against the party and contest the elections as an independent after not getting the ticket from Congress. After this, the party accused him of indiscipline and showed him the way out.
