Karauli Candle march taken out to stop child marriage

Karauli News Desk: A campaign is being run by the District Administration, Legal Literacy Authority and voluntary organizations regarding prevention and awareness of child marriage in Karauli. Under the campaign, a workshop, seminar, candle march and oath on child marriage free India campaign was organized by the Village State Development and Training Institute in Karauli.

Vijay Singh Mali of the organization said that the campaign has been started by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. The campaign is an extremely important and decisive step towards ensuring a safe, bright future for children. Work will continue towards realizing the dream of India developed by Just Rights for Children, the largest coalition for the safety and protection of children, and work towards stopping child marriage.

JRC has played an important role in the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment against child marriage, in which the Court has prepared a detailed action plan and roadmap for states and all stakeholders to stop child marriage. Earlier this year, the JRC’s intervention led to a landmark judgment by the Rajasthan High Court. In which Panchayats were held responsible for preventing child marriage in the state, especially during Akshaya Tritiya. The Child Marriage Free India campaign is a decisive step in the fight to end child marriage.
