Bengaluru, December 9 (IANS). Tension has increased between India and Bangladesh due to the ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Amidst all this, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has reached Dhaka on a visit to Bangladesh. This is expected to reduce the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. On this, Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson S. Prakash has described this visit of the Foreign Secretary as very important.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “This is a very important visit after the change of power in Bangladesh, where Hindus are being targeted by Muslim fundamentalists. The ISKCON chief is still in jail and is getting legal assistance from the government there. These are many important issues on which Hindus need protection from the government, I am sure that they will discuss all these issues in detail and the security of Hindus will be ensured.
Let us tell you that Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reached Dhaka on Monday. His visit is taking place at a time when minorities in Bangladesh, especially the Hindu community, and their religious places are allegedly being targeted.
Vikram Misri’s visit is to participate in the Foreign Office Consultations, a mechanism to address bilateral issues and promote dialogue.
Earlier in September, a meeting was held between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Advisor Mohammad Tauheed Hussain on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
On TMC chief Mamata Banerjee expressing her desire to chair the India Bloc, he said, “Indi alliance partners in India have now understood that Rahul Gandhi has become a burden for them. He is not capable of leading the alliance.” Because of this they are openly saying that Mamata Banerjee is more capable and will lead the alliance well, it does not matter to BJP as long as PM Modi and our development agenda is there. We have any choice. Will remain undefeated.
