Karauli : Karauli Rising Investors in Rajasthan are giving new opportunities to the industrial development of the state, while the entrepreneurs of Karauli district are not getting the benefits of RIICO’s Backward District Incentive Scheme even after 12 years. In such a situation, due to lack of support from government schemes, the growth of industries in the district has slowed down. The situation is that about 20 percent of the units in Rico industrial area have been closed after coming into production. Which has not been able to stand again. In fact, the state government had started Backward District Industrial Development Scheme for industrially backward areas in the year 2012 for coordinated industrial development in the state. Karauli district including Dholpur, Pratapgarh, Sawai Madhopur and Baran were included in the plan. Due to which, to provide relief to the entrepreneurs, a provision was made to provide 50 percent discount in the service charge of RIICO along with other facilities and concessions. Entrepreneurs in industrial areas of other districts including Gangapur City of Sawai Madhopur Unit are getting the benefits of the scheme. But the entrepreneurs of Karauli district are not getting the benefit of RIICO’s relief scheme. The situation is that in the era of Make in India and Startup, the industry in RIICO industrial area is still not getting encouragement.
The post of RM has been vacant since one year: Hindaun in Sawai Madhopur unit of RIICO is one of the big industrial areas, but the post of Regional Manager (RM) is vacant here since last one year. After the transfer of Maheshchand Meena in October 2023, no one was posted. For the arrangements, additional responsibility has been assigned to RM Sitaram Meena of Tonk Industrial Area.
Status of backward, fee same as forward: Industrial sector entrepreneur M. Iqbal said that RIICO has given the status of backward area to Karauli district. But the entrepreneurs are charged service charges as per the fully developed area. Mohammad Iqbal said that the rate of service charges in Hindaun is Rs 10 70 paise per square metre, whereas in Gangapur City it is half of that – Rs 5 50 paise per square metre. Due to this, entrepreneurs have to pay more fees even after getting exemption.
