Karauli : Mustard crop has started blooming in the fields in Karauli district, while sowing of wheat has also gained momentum. Wheat sowing has intensified after the increase in winter due to drop in temperature in the last two-three days. However, the sowing work of mustard in the district is almost complete, while 70 percent sowing has been done against the target. This time the target of sowing Rabi crops in the district was set in an area of one lakh 23 thousand hectares, against which till now various crops have been sown in an area of one lakh 1 thousand 386 hectares.
This time, the Agriculture Department has set a target of sowing wheat in 55 thousand hectare area in the district, against which till now wheat has been sown in 32 thousand 966 hectare area. According to Agriculture Department officials, the sowing time of wheat is usually between November 7 and November 25. However, this time the effect of cold has been less till half of November. Now there has been some increase in cold in the last two-three days and sowing of wheat has also increased. In such a situation, departmental officials say that wheat sowing will be completed on time as per the target. Similarly, this time the target of sowing mustard in 65 thousand hectare area in the district was set, against which mustard was sown in 64 thousand 210 hectare area in the district. Sowing has been done. It is noteworthy that mainly wheat, mustard and gram are sown in Rabi crops in the district.
Sowing of gram twice the target: However, the area under gram in the district is very less. In such a situation, the targets for gram sowing were kept very low by the department also. The department had set a target of sowing gram in an area of one thousand hectares, against which gram has been sown in an area of 2400 hectares. Whereas other crops have been sown in 2 thousand hectares.
