Karauli : Due to the indifference of the Forest Department officers and employees, there is panic among the people due to the increasing terror of panthers in the town and surrounding villages for the last two months. On Tuesday night, the panther attacked and killed a young goat in the village of Timawa, while in the hills many swans and calves of cows were turned into prey. But forest department officials are not taking any action to rescue the panthers. There is anger among the people due to this. Villagers told that there are hundreds of kilometers of hills in the Gudhachandraji forest area, in which half a dozen panthers roam. Every day people see the movement of panthers.
The panthers have so far devoured hundreds of sheep, goats and dogs in the area. Apart from this, many cattle have also been hunted. There is fear among people due to the movement of panthers every day. At present, wheat and gram crops along with mustard are flourishing in the fields. For this reason people have started shying away from going to the fields. But even after this no action is being taken by the department. There is anger among the people due to this. In this regard, Regional Forest Officer Mahendra Meena says that the movement of panther is going on continuously in the area. Two separate teams have been appointed for this. Who are constantly keeping a watch on the Baghers.
