Child Protection Week is being celebrated in the district under the joint aegis of Karauli : Karauli Nehru Yuva Kendra and ActionAid-UNICEF Karauli. ActionAid UNICEF District Coordinator Dinesh Kumar Bairwa has said that under the Child Protection Week, awareness programs were conducted to educate the general public about prevention of child labour, child marriage, child trafficking, child sexual exploitation, beggary and making child protection effective. The District Coordinator said that he gave information about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. He said that its rules were made with the aim of protecting children from physical, emotional or sexual abuse, as well as protecting the interests of children at all stages. He informed that all persons under the age of 18 years, whether male or female, are entitled to protection under the POCSO Act. He said that cyber crime is illegal activities carried out using computers, networks, or digital devices. Considering the increasing number of cyber crimes and the damage caused by them, it is important to take steps to prevent them. Cyber ​​crimes can take many forms, such as hacking, phishing, identity theft, ransomware, and malware attacks. Cybercrime can cause financial loss, reputational damage, and compromised records to individuals, businesses, and government organizations.

He said that the technology of cyber criminals keeps evolving. To protect against cyber crime, use security software like antivirus and firewall. Do not visit untrusted websites and download unknown files. Be careful on email attachments too. Use strong passwords. Do not share sensitive information online or on social media. Encouraged to immediately inform the police if he becomes a victim of cyber crime.

Sharad Tripathi, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, said that under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, it is mandatory for all child care facilities to have registration. This Act says that in case of serious crimes, 16 to 18 Juveniles of the age of one year will be treated as adults. The Act clearly differentiates between children in conflict with the law and children in need of care and protection.
