Karauli News Desk: Farmers of four districts including Karauli district will now be able to get electricity during the day for crop irrigation. Also, people will get relief from the problem of power cut for hours due to load shedding. For this, the state government has sent a 500 MVA (Mega Volt Ampere) transformer to increase the capacity of 400 KV GSS located at Gudhapole, Hindaun. On Sunday morning, the transfer from Ahmedabad reached Gudhapol on a 106 wheeler trailer.
With the installation of the transformer in a month at a cost of about Rs 40 crore, the capacity of GSS will increase to 1130 MVA. Which is more than the maximum demand of Rabi crop season. This means that in the new year the electricity system of Karauli, Dholpur Gangapur and Bharatpur districts will be strengthened. In fact, due to excessive consumption of electricity during the peak season of Rabi crop, the electricity grid sub-stations get overloaded. Due to the situation of tripping and overloading when power demand is more than the capacity, load shedding on lower level GSS occurs, consumers, especially farmers, do not get adequate power. At the same time, there is a strong demand from the farmers for daytime supply for irrigation in winter. To solve this problem, there was a wait for many years for installation of 500 MVA transformer to increase the capacity of 400 KV GSS Gudhapol.
For this, the Chairman of Discom prepared an action plan after discussing with the Managing Directors of the Corporation. With the installation of additional 500 MW transformer on 400 KV GSS, people of Karauli, Dholpur, Bharatpur and Gangapur City districts including Hindon City will get relief from electricity problems. By eliminating overloading on 220 and 132 KV GSS of these districts, 400 KV GSS will provide uninterrupted power supply.
Transformer will be lowered from the trailer in two days: Assistant Engineer of GSS Gudhapol, Ashish Jareda said that in about one and a half month, the transformer weighing 300 tonnes which arrived from Ahmedabad will be lowered into the yard of GSS through hydraulic jacks. It will take about a month for placing and installation on the foundation being prepared in the yard. 22 thousand liters of oil will be filled in the transformer.
