Karauli : Karauli is a relief news for the city residents who have been facing the problem of waterlogging for decades. Flood-like situations caused by excessive rainfall in the past months should not reoccur and markets should not be waterlogged. For a permanent solution to the problem, a better drainage system will be built in the city. For this, an exercise has been started by the Municipal Council. DPR will soon be prepared for easy drainage in the city. If everything goes well then the people of the city will get relief from waterlogging in the coming year.
On the basis of the survey report of the high level committee of Autonomous Governance Directorate and RUDISCO sent by the state government, the Municipal Council has issued tender for preparing DPR of drainage at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. Under which a large project report of rain and normal water drainage in the entire urban area including the problem of saline drains will be prepared by a consultancy agency. The government is expected to approve the budget for the cost estimated in the DPR. Due to which the shortcomings of the salty drain will be removed and a better drainage system will be created in the city. It is noteworthy that due to lack of a good drainage system in the city spread over 28.4 square kilometers, colonies including markets get waterlogged during the rains.
Khari drain will be improved, new drainage will be built: According to City Council sources, based on the recommendation of the survey report of the high level committee, the consultancy agency will prepare a DPR for correcting the bed level (surface) of the salty drain along with complete change and partial improvement. Apart from the Khari drain, other drainage systems will also be developed in the city.
