Keshav Prasad Maurya said in Lakhimpur Kheri, Muslim voters helped BJP a lot in Kundarki, took a dig at Akhilesh

Lakhimpur Kheri, November 24 (IANS). In the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, NDA won seven out of nine seats. Encouraged by the victory, BJP is going among the workers to inspire enthusiasm. Programs are being organized at various places.

On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya reached among the workers in Lakhimpur Kheri. Here, while addressing the party workers, he targeted Akhilesh Yadav by giving the example of Kundarki’s victory.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Akhilesh Yadav feels that Muslim voters have a compulsion to vote for him. Muslim voters have helped Bharatiya Janata Party a lot in winning the Kundarki assembly seat of Moradabad. This is the reason why Bharatiya Janata Party was successful in defeating Samajwadi Party by more than 144000 votes in Kundarki.

Muslims have also voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party in large numbers in this Muslim dominated seat. BJP has never won the Karhal seat since 2002 and it is considered the home seat of the Yadav family. Here BJP gave a strong challenge to Tej Pratap Yadav. BJP’s vote has increased manifold in Karhal and the party had to face defeat by just 14 thousand votes.

Let us tell you that BJP won Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Phulpur, Kathari and Majhwan seats of Uttar Pradesh in the by-elections. While BJP’s ally RLD won the Meerapur seat.

It may be noted that Samajwadi Party had won Kundarki in the 2022 assembly elections. By-election was held on this seat also due to the MLA being elected as MP. This seat was also held by Samajwadi Party for a long time, but in the by-election held in 2024, this seat went to BJP under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

On the call of Yogi, the public defeated SP from here. BJP’s Ramveer Singh got 1,70,371 votes in Kundarki seat. He defeated SP candidate Mohammad Rizwan by 1,44,791 votes.

SP’s Rizwan got 25,580 votes on this seat. Azad Samaj Party was at third position, which got 14,201 votes. Whereas, AIMIM got 8,111 votes. Here BSP remained at fifth position. He could get only 1,099 votes.
