Jaipur : Minister of State for Energy Hiralal Nagar made it clear during the question hour in the assembly that consumers who were deprived of registration in the 100 unit free electricity scheme will not get the benefit of the scheme. The minister’s clarification also led to a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition in the House. The opposition said how two laws will run in one state, but the minister clarified that the compulsion of registration was put in place by your government. We are just taking the scheme forward. About 30 lakh consumers who have not registered will not get the benefit of the free electricity scheme.
On the question of Sadulpur MLA Manoj Kumar, Minister Nagar said that there is no proposal under consideration to include the families who have been deprived of the free electricity scheme in the scheme. The previous government had started this scheme as an amnesty scheme as the elections were nearing, in which it was clear that only those who register will get the benefit. If the previous government had the intention, then there would have been no provision for registration. Manoj Kumar said that if you want to include everyone in this scheme, then remove the provision of registration. Your government has also been in power for eight months. Manoj Kumar said that fuel charge of up to one thousand rupees is being levied on electricity bills. On this, the minister said that no fuel charge is being levied on consumers consuming 200 units. Fuel charge is being recovered as per rules only when consumption is more than this.
So there is no benefit: Minister
The minister said that there are a total of 1 crore 29 lakh 9 thousand 968 consumers in Rajasthan. After registration, 98 lakh 23 thousand 314 consumers are being given benefits. Registration of 30 lakh 86 thousand 654 consumers could not be done. Due to this, they cannot get the benefit of free electricity scheme.
Category one, no use: Julie
Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie said that consumers are of the same category and benefits are not being given only in the name of registration. Two types of laws cannot be implemented in one state. Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasara also tried to speak but the Speaker of the Assembly did not allow him. The round of allegations and counter-allegations continued for a long time between the ruling party and the opposition.
