Jaipur : the threat of seasonal diseases is looming over our heads. There is a possibility of mosquitoes breeding in the stagnant water after the rains stop. There are no resources to control them in Phalodi and Jodhpur rural districts. The government created new districts and posted CMHOs and Deputy CMHOs in them, but did not provide other officers and employees under them. Separate CMHOs have been appointed in Jodhpur Rural and Phalodi. They have also been given targets for field working, but there are no resources. The rural CMHO has not even been given a separate office. Apart from the short-term employees appointed to prevent mosquito-borne diseases, there is no monitoring of any kind. Rural CMHO Pratap Singh says that we have appointed part-time employees for survey, who will do larva activation and survey. Apart from this, the government has not approved new officers.
lending money for action
For food safety, four officers are working under the urban CMHO, but not even one in the rural areas. In such a situation, if action has to be taken in Jodhpur rural and Phalodi, then the logistical support has to be borrowed from the city.
No drug inspector either.
There is no separate officer for drug control and testing. Inspectors are posted with the drug controller in Jodhpur, but no separate officer has been given to Jodhpur Rural and Phalodi districts.
How to act on a complaint
Prenatal fetal testing, which is the most important, has not been given authority in the newly formed districts. Even if a complaint is received, the investigation has to be done by urban officials. Whereas the rural area is quite large.
