Jodhpur : Assistant Collector RAS officer Priyanka Bishnoi posted in Jodhpur, Rajasthan died on Wednesday in a hospital in Ahmedabad. Many questions are also being raised after her death. Priyanka Bishnoi’s family says that during a stomach operation in Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur, she was given an overdose of anesthesia, after which she went into a coma and died 14 days later. However, Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur is denying this. Hospital director Dr. Sanjay Makwana has rejected all the allegations. Dr. Makwana said that the talk of any kind of anesthesia and bleeding is wrong, Priyanka’s operation was successful here and nothing happened to her during this. Her health deteriorated while being taken to Ahmedabad.
What is Dr Makwana’s claim?
He said that on the second day of the operation, Bishnoi became irritable. We also showed her to a neurologist and cardiologist, but we did not find anything special. Makwana told the media that Priyanka’s family said that they wanted to take her to Ahmedabad for better treatment. So they took her there. When a CT scan was done there, it was found that she had Arteriovenous Malformation in the brain. That is, a vein in the brain burst due to which blood spread in the brain and she died.
District collector formed a committee
Jodhpur District Collector Gaurav Agarwal has formed a team of 5 members to investigate the death on the role of Vasundhara Hospital. It will be headed by S.N. Medical College Principal Dr. Bharti Saraswat. This team will also investigate the surgery done in Vasundhara Hospital.
But according to the director of Vasundhara Hospital, the cause of Priyanka Bishnoi’s death was a vein burst. To know under what circumstances this disease occurs, NDTV spoke to Dr. Prithvi Giri, head of the Neuroscience Department of Apex Hospital, Jaipur. Dr. Giri says, “Bursting of veins can happen due to many reasons, one of them is Arteriovenous Malformation and the other is ‘Brain Aneurysm’.” However, it is not clear yet which particular condition (Brain Aneurysm or Arteriovenous Malformation) caused the bleeding in Priyanka Bishnoi’s brain. Let us know what are the two conditions due to which veins burst in the brain, which is also called brain hemorrhage.
What is ‘Brain Aneurysm’?
Neurologist Dr Prithvi Giri says, ‘Brain aneurysm’ is a mental disorder. It is caused by the ‘outpouching’ of the brain’s veins. Such people have a higher risk of brain hemorrhage. These veins sometimes burst without any warning and this can even lead to the death of the patient.
This causes bleeding in the brain and the patient goes into a coma, and the patient also dies due to multi-organ failure.
1 out of 2 lakh people suffer from this disease
Does it have any symptoms? On this question, Dr. Giri says, “It has symptoms, it can also be asymptomatic. It can also be genetic. Generally, brain aneurysm is not detected, and it is not a protocol to do this test on every patient. There are many reasons for this, one of them is that it is a very rare case, this disorder is found in one in about 2 lakh people.”
‘Brain aneurysm’ test is done only when needed
He adds, “The second reason is that its test is expensive. Its cost is 20 to 25 thousand rupees, so its test is done only when the patient shows any symptoms, like severe headache, dizziness etc., or its test is done when any patient’s family member has ever had this disease.”
What is Arteriovenous Malformation?
In this condition, the veins of the brain suddenly burst without any warning. This condition arises when the veins of the brain stick together. Due to which ‘out pouching’ occurs. That is, a membrane is formed and when it bursts, bleeding occurs in the brain.
