Churu : The encounter case of Rajasthan’s notorious gangster Anandpal Singh has not cooled down yet. Jodhpur court on Wednesday rejected the closure report by CBI in this case and ordered to file a murder case against seven policemen including Churu’s then Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Barhat. Gangster Anandpal Singh died in a police encounter in Malasar village of Churu district on June 24, 2017. After the court’s decision, IPS Rahul Barhat’s troubles are going to increase. Now a murder case will be filed against him in this seven-year-old case.
Apart from Barhat, the court has ordered to prosecute the then circle officer of Kuchaman City Vidya Prakash, police inspector Suryaveer Singh, head constable Kailash Chandra, constable Sohan Singh, Dharam Pal and Dharamveer. Currently IPS Barhat is posted in Mumbai on deputation.

Rahul Barhat (IPS Rahul Barhat) was born on 31 December 1980 in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. He has done graduation in B.E. (Computer). He is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Rajasthan cadre of 2007. Currently, he is posted as ‘Protector of Emigrants in POE’ in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. He was posted as Churu Superintendent of Police (SP) from 24 June 2015 to 23 July 2018. When he was transferred from Churu to Bikaner 3 RAC, he was given a grand farewell by the policemen. Apart from Churu, Rahul was also the SP of Jalore, Barmer and Jhalawar districts.
