Kota JEE-Advanced on May 18, exam will be held in two shifts

Kota : Kota Engineering Entrance Examination JEE Advanced 2025 will be conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2025. This was announced by IIT Kanpur on Monday by issuing a press release. As per the announcement, the examination will be held in two shifts. Both the shifts will be of 3 hours each. The first shift will be from 9 to 12 am and the second shift will be from 2.30 to 5.30 pm. Career counseling expert Amit Ahuja said that a maximum of 1 lakh 80 thousand 200 students had appeared in JEE-Advanced 2024. This year this number may be higher, as around 16 lakh students are likely to appear in JEE-Main and out of these, top-2.50 lakh students will be declared eligible for Advanced.

Why is this the most difficult exam?

Ahuja told that it is never told in advance how many questions and how many marks are asked in the JEE Advanced exam. Nor is the marking scheme of the paper determined and informed in advance. In the advanced examination, students find the number of questions and marking scheme written in the instructions given in the exam hall half an hour before the paper. In this, questions are matching list type, integer type, single correct, multiple correct comprehension paragraph based. The sharpness of the students is tested by asking questions on different patterns. In this examination, the chances of repeating questions from previous years’ question papers are negligible. Also, this examination is taken in two shifts of 3 hours each in a day. For the last 4 years, in JEE Advanced, both Paper-1 and Paper-2 were of 180 marks and the entire paper was of 360 marks, out of which Physics, Chemistry and Maths papers were of 120 marks.
