Kota : Kota POCSO Court No. 3 has sentenced the accused in a two-year-old case of rape of a mentally retarded girl. The court has punished the accused Shaheed Mohammad (50) with life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 35 thousand. The accused had raped a 30-year-old mentally retarded and speechless girl from the locality. The accused was married.

Special Public Prosecutor Lalit Kumar Sharma said that the victim’s mother had given a complaint in this regard in a city police station in October 2022. It was told in the complaint that he has 2 boys and 3 girls. One of which is a 30 year old daughter who is mentally retarded. Who doesn’t speak. She lives at home with me. There is a wooden platform in front of his house. On which Shaheed Mohammad works as a cart tossing wood. I have known her for 20 years. On October 25, at around 2.30 pm, she had gone to the upstairs room. The daughter was sleeping in the room below. When she came down from the upstairs room, her daughter’s voice came. Shaheed Mohammad came out of our room. Pushed away and ran away. The daughter indicated through gestures that she had committed a wrongdoing. On the complaint, the police registered a case and started investigation. The accused was arrested and a challan was presented against him in the court. Statements of 15 witnesses were obtained in the court and 23 documents were presented.
