Kota: These facilities are inconvenient, toilets are locked after spending crores of rupees

Kota : Kota district has become ODF, but even today the practice of open defecation has not stopped in the villages of the district. Villagers are filling home-built toilets with straw and at other places with cow dung cakes. At the same time, dirty and dilapidated public and community toilets at the district headquarters are spoiling the cleanliness ranking of the city. When the photographer scanned the public toilets of the city, he found that the toilets at prominent places were locked. The toilets that were open were full of dirt and foul smell. In such a situation, instead of using the toilet, people were seen retiring in the open outside or around it.

Store rooms become toilets in villages

Toilets are not being used due to lack of water supply at many places in the villages of the district. Many toilets also became unusable due to poor condition. A large number of people in villages are using toilets as stores. Somewhere it is filled with cow dung cakes and somewhere else it is filled with straw. Due to formal action being taken by the administration in this matter, most of the toilets are proving to be unusable. Kota has been declared ODF. Now applying for ODF Plus Plus. Apart from this, they are applying for three star rating of ULB for Garbage Free City. The toilets which are locked will be opened. If anyone is negligent in cleaning, action will be taken against him as per rules. Currently, I am on leave. Inspect the cleanliness of the toilet from time to time. Action will be taken against those who are negligent in cleaning toilets.

Toilets have been built on a large scale in Kota. Apart from this, villagers are being made aware at every level. This is changing rapidly. In sanitation, Kota has become ODF and is moving towards ODF Plus ranking. People who do not use toilets will be cautioned.

Dadabadi Main Road

A facility was built near the Government Higher Secondary School on Dadabari Main Road, but it has been locked since its construction. In such a situation, despite having a facility, students, passers-by and people of the area are not able to use it. Due to lack of maintenance, the facility has started falling into disrepair even before it was opened.

Vegetable Market, Indra Market

The facility built in Sabzi Mandi, Indra Market has become a victim of encroachment. Encroachers have set up carts around it. In such a situation its path has been closed. Common people and women are not even able to see this because they are surrounded by encroachers. The system of cleaning and maintenance by the corporation administration is in bad shape.

Pipalda The toilets built under the Bharat Mission were built by the Gram Panchayat, but many toilets have been damaged. In many villages, toilets are filled with junk, bricks, wood etc. Villagers are still going outside to defecate. When the villagers were asked, they told that the toilets built by the Gram Panchayat through contractors were damaged due to lack of quality work. Villagers have filled the toilets of villages of Pipalda, Shahnavada, Dungarli panchayats with garbage.

Aerodrome Square

With the construction of the city’s most prominent Aerodram intersection, umbrella-like toilets were built on both its sides and in the heritage look, but even after a long time of construction, only the toilet on the side of the roadways temporary bus stand at the Aerodram was opened. The second toilet was built at the corner of the airport, but it is locked. In such a situation, people are using the corridors made for walking here as convenience stores. In such a situation, people are not able to even leave the corridor of the intersection built with crores of rupees due to dirt and smell.
