Kota : Kota State Government has sent a proposal to the Central Government to build a Bulk Drugs Park (Pharma Park) in Kota. If the green signal from the Center is given, a bulk drugs park can be built. This can be a meaningful step for the industrial development of Kota. There is a possibility of investment of Rs. 3 thousand crores in the Drugs Park, which will provide employment to 30 thousand people.
The area adjacent to Bharat Mala Project was considered suitable
In the Bharat Mala project, the industrial area adjacent to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been considered suitable to be developed as a Bulk Drugs Park (Pharma Park). Due to its proximity to the expressway, road connectivity with other states of the country will be better. Raw material will be easily available. The land of this park was identified near Gundi-Fatehpur Industrial Area. RIICO had sent the proposal to develop the park to the Center through the state government about three years ago. After this the letter is lying in the cold storage.
so much land needed
1000 acres of land is required for the drugs park. It has 227 acres of forest land. The process of its receipt is long. Apart from this, some part of the land reserved for this park is in the process of allotment for the displaced people of Takli Dam and for other works. However, due to high level efforts at Delhi level, all these obstacles are expected to be removed.
What will happen in the drugs park?
Raw material for medicines will be prepared in Bulk Drugs Park. Under the Vocal for Local initiative of the Central Government, raw material based units used in medicines will be set up. Currently, the raw materials used in medicines are imported from China. These parks are being developed to make them self-reliant in the field of drug manufacturing.
Fertilizer Ministry had asked for proposals
The Central Government has approved Bulk Drugs Parks in the country. One of these is to be opened in Rajasthan. Proposals in this regard were sought from the Union Ministry of Fertilizer Chemicals. Kota was considered favorable for the drugs park due to adequate availability of water and electricity.
