Jaipur : Lord Krishna killed his own maternal uncle Kansa on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This is the reason why this date is also known as Kansa Vadh. One of the important events in Krishna’s life is the killing of uncle Kansa. The entire life of Lord Krishna is full of Leelas. From his birth to his last moments, everything seems to be his Leela. Krishna ji was also born in difficult circumstances due to which the evil uncle Kansa was the reason. Due to a prophecy, King Kansa wanted to kill his own nephew Shri Krishna, for this he also made many efforts but in the end he was killed by Lord Krishna.

These are some interesting facts related to the killing of Kansa

– Kansa had eight brothers and five sisters. He was the eldest among his siblings. His sisters were married to the younger brothers of Vasudev ji.
– Kansa was so evil that to become the king of Shursen district, he captured his own father Ugrasen and put him in jail.

– Kansa was very affectionate towards his cousin Devaki, but a prophecy changed everything. The prophecy said that Kansa would be killed by Devaki’s 8th son.
– On hearing the prophecy of death, Kansa became furious and he imprisoned his own sister Devaki and her husband Vasudev.
– Kansa had killed the six sons of Devaki born in prison.
– Lord Vishnu himself came into the womb of mother Devaki and became her 8th child. In the prophecy it was said that he would be killed by the 8th son only.
– When Shri Krishna was born, the prison opened automatically and all the soldiers went to sleep. Vasudev Ji succeeded in taking Bal Krishna to Nand Baba.

– When Kansa got the information that Shri Krishna was in Gokul, he made several attempts to kill him. He sent many demons but none of them succeeded in front of Krishna Leela.
– Once Kansa invited Krishnaji to his court to kill him. It was here that Krishnaji killed his uncle Kansa and freed the people from his atrocities.
