Krunal Pandya’s team created a new record by scoring 349 runs in T20.

Indore, 5 December (IANS). Baroda team broke many T20 records by scoring a huge score of 349 runs against Sikkim in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With this innings, Baroda has created a new record for the highest team score in T20, breaking Zimbabwe’s record of 344 runs. Baroda won the match by 263 runs by restricting Sikkim to 86 runs for seven wickets.

Baroda team captained by Krunal Pandya batted brilliantly to reach this milestone. Bhanu Paniya scored the highest unbeaten 134 runs on 51 balls. Apart from this, Shivalik Sharma (53 runs in 17 balls), Abhimanyu Singh (55 runs in 17 balls), and Vishnu Solanki (50 runs in 16 balls) scored quick half-centuries.

A new record of sixes was also made in this match. Baroda hit 37 sixes in their innings, which is the most in a single innings in T20 history. Earlier this record was in the name of Zimbabwe, who had hit 27 sixes against Gambia.

A total of 37 sixes is the fifth highest figure in both innings of a match combined. If Sikkim had hit 6 sixes in their innings, it would have become a new record for the most number of sixes in a T20 match.

After this performance of Baroda, the race for knockout in Group B of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has become even more interesting. Baroda has topped the group with 24 points, Gujarat is also in second place with 24 points while Saurashtra is in third place with 20 points and has one match left.
