Kunjilal and other officers get clean chit in Jaipur bribery case

Jaipur : ACB has given clean chit to the then Principal Secretary of UDH Kunjilal Meena and other officials of the department in the bribery case. ACB has admitted that these officers had no role in the case of Rs 12 lakh recovered in the name of passing the file. ACB considered the broker arrested for taking bribe as an accused and presented a challan against him in the special court for ACB cases in Udaipur. Has given. ACB’s Jaipur team had registered the case last year, in which then UDH Principal Secretary Kunji Lal Meena, Joint Secretary Manish Goyal and Assistant Section Officer Harimohan Meena, besides broker Lokesh Jain, resident of Udaipur, were accused.

On May 8, 2023, ACB had arrested broker Lokesh for taking a bribe of Rs 12 lakh. Lokesh had taken this amount of bribe from the complainant to get NOC for land conversion of his land under 90A. Before the trap, the broker had taken the names of UDH officials in the verification. The officers were nominated on the basis of the facts that emerged during the conversation.

ACB admitted in the investigation – there was no collusion with the broker
ACB has stated in the charge sheet that before the broker had demanded bribe from the complainant, Joint Government Secretary Manish Goyal had forwarded the file. The bribe demand was verified on April 10. Whereas Goyal had already moved the file forward with his comments on March 23.

The complainant had said that he went to the secretariat several times for his work, but it was confirmed that he had gone there only twice. The broker did not take the name of any official when he was arrested while taking bribe. On this basis, ACB accepted that the accused had given false assurance to get the work done by meeting the officials. Similarly, the allegations against Kunjilal Meena were also not proved. The action taken by him was considered correct as per the rules.

Departmental action against joint secretary

Even though ACB acquitted him of corruption charges, it has written to the Personnel Department for departmental action against Joint Secretary Hari Mohan Meena.
