New Delhi, December 8 (IANS). This time a special attraction in the Saras Food Festival going on in the national capital Delhi is ‘Lakhpati Didi’. These women have come from different parts of the country, who have been successful in improving their lives through self-help groups. These women have earned an annual income of more than Rs 1 lakh and have become a source of inspiration.
The food festival is presenting various traditional dishes from 25 states, including special dishes like Sidhu from Himachal Pradesh, Sol Kadhi from Maharashtra and Pitha Roti from Jharkhand. The event has been organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and National Rural Livelihood Mission. This time its main objective is to empower women and encourage the rich traditions of various regional cuisines. On this occasion, some beneficiaries of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ shared their success stories with IANS.
Beneficiary Manati Devnath said that this scheme has proved to be a boon for us. It is because of this effort of Prime Minister Modi that we have become millionaires and have been able to bring changes in our lives. Today we are standing on our feet, all this has been possible only with the help of PM Modi. Thanking Prime Minister Modi, he said that we got the opportunity to make our identity, we thank him wholeheartedly.
Another beneficiary named Saanvi said that first of all we want to thank Prime Minister Modi. Earlier we did not even come out of the house, but now we are living life standing on our feet. ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme has given us a golden opportunity to become self-reliant.
Another beneficiary said that the confidence we have got after getting the benefit of this scheme is incredible. We also try to explain to other women in our community that if they believe in themselves, they can come out of any situation. Thanking PM Modi, she said that the heights that Modi ji has set for us women inspire us to move forward.
Under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, financial assistance, training and marketing support is provided to women self-help groups, so that they can develop their business skills. Through this scheme, work is being done to empower millions of women across the country.
