Law Minister laid the foundation stone of Ambedkar e-Library on the land of Bikaner e-Library and Auditorium.

Bikaner News Desk: A dispute has now arisen over the land provided by Bikaner Municipal Corporation for Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar e-Library and Auditorium. A person got a stay from the court claiming that land as his own. Its copy was also made available to the corporation. In fact, on November 15, Union Law Minister Arjunram Meghwal had laid the foundation stone of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar e-Library and Auditorium. There was a plan to spend Rs 25 to 30 crores here. Apart from the Union Law Minister, many leaders including former Mayor and Minister were present. The corporation had provided land for this project, but the corporation claims that on December 2, a person barricaded it. When the corporation got information about the fencing, it immediately removed it. When the corporation forcibly removed the fencing, it also provided a copy of the stay to the corporation.

Now construction work cannot be done as long as there is a stay. This is the dream project of the Law Minister. Rs 30 crore was to be spent here from CSR fund. Its work in the shape of Ashoka Chakra was to be completed in two years. 1000 students were to get the facilities of digital library and auditorium. Along with this, it is also proposed to install an art gallery and a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar. The project was to be completed in two years but the land dispute deepened at its very beginning.

Dispute over land of e-library and auditorium, corporation forcibly removed fencing

On June 15, 2024 itself, a case was presented before the Additional Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate No. 1, Bikaner, to ensure that no construction takes place on the land on which the Corporation reserved the land for building an e-library. It was registered on 23 October. It was told that the ownership rights on plot number C-671 belong to Radheshyam Chauhan, resident of Chautina Kuan. The foundation stone was laid here on 15th November and on 25th November the court’s decision came that till the disposal of the original suit, it is a leased property which is in the ownership of the applicant. Do not evict without following legal procedure. Do not create obstruction in the boundary wall of the applicant but the corporation demolished the fencing on December 2 despite the court order of November 25. On the other hand, the corporation argues that the lease being shown belongs to Shivbari Panchayat. This plot number is not there in the lease issued by Shivbari.
