Leadership of ‘India’ block will be decided by mutual consent: Mrityunjay Tiwari

Patna, December 10 (IANS). Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had raised questions regarding the leadership of ‘India’ block. Now Lalu has also supported him. RJD’s reaction has come to light on this statement of Lalu.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, “There are 18 parties included in the ‘India’ block. If Mamata Banerjee personally has said that she can lead, then is there any problem on this. A collective decision in this regard will be taken together.

He said, “The Congress party is currently leading the ‘India’ block in the Lok Sabha. On what Mamata Banerjee said, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that she can do it. He did not oppose, no one is opposing anyone here.

Mrityunjay Tiwari said, “The main objective of the ‘India’ block is to fight strongly against the communal forces and against the BJP. People are united and fighting against it. This is a big fight to save the country, democracy and the Constitution. There is no dispute in this. We will all sit together and decide. No such thing has been said which has hurt Congress or any party.”

Earlier, on the ongoing tussle over leadership in the ‘India’ block, BJP leader Rahul Sinha had said, “There is no Indi Alliance after the Maharashtra elections. They have scattered among themselves and a fight has started. Congress and Congress allies came to one side and non-Congress parties went to one side. The greater the conflict between these people, the greater will be the benefit for the nation. This joint should be broken, this joint should end because this ‘khichdi’ is harmful for the nation and the public. Lalu will say something, Mamta will say something, Congress will say something and just like that these people will scatter. Whatever little is left will end up fighting among themselves.
