Dholpur : Efforts have been started to build Cheetah Corridor in Rajasthan. According to this year’s budget announcement, Cheetah Corridor will be built in the 400 km forest area from Dholpur to Rawatbhata. For this, a joint meeting of forest department officials of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has been called in Ranthambore. Conservation of leopards will be discussed during the meeting. Along with this, a decision will also be taken on the MOU between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

District Forest Officer Chetan Kumar said that the state government has given the green signal to the Cheetah Corridor project as per the budget announcement. Efforts are being made to implement the Cheetah Landscape Project after talks with the Madhya Pradesh government. For this, there will also be a joint meeting between the officials of both the states. District Forest Officer Chetan Kumar said that Chief Wildlife Officer Pawan Upadhyay and Rajesh Kumar Gupta and many other officers will attend the joint meeting to be held in Ranthambore.
Movement of 4-5 leopards captured on camera in the district
According to the forest officer, at present there is movement of 4 to 5 leopards in Dang area of Dholpur district. Apart from one female, the movement of three cubs has also been captured in the cameras of the forest department. In this area, more than 10 panthers, about 10 bears, wild animals including jackal, jackal, fox, python etc. are roaming in the Dang area of the district. The state government has already declared Dholpur district as a century area. There is daily movement of tiger, panther and other wild animals in the Dang area from Dholpur to Karauli. The creation of Cheetah Landscape will increase the number of wildlife. Besides, tourism is also expected to get a boost.
